Hello internet! Good news we’re all still alive and thriving, it’s been a long few months of survival but we’ve finally welcomed our newest tribe member and couldn’t be happier!
Oliver Apollo was born at 12:23pm on September 14th, a whole five days late, he weighed in at 8 pounds 9 ounces and was 21 inches long! He was the exact same size as his big brother and they look identical!
The second time around was a breeze ccompared to the first, but that’s a story for another time.
Ezra has been adjusting to his new role as big brother surprisingly well! We’ve been letting him watch more t.v. than we’d like but we’re still in survival mode trying to figure out our daily routine, plus throw in the added challenge of home schooling an eighth grader (another story for another day) and busy is a good word to describe it.
As for how I’m holding up after the second baby, some days are better than others but overall I’m not nearly as bad off as with Ezra, thankfully I took my mental health a little more seriously this time around and started tackling my anxiety and predisposition to post partum depression while I was still pregnant. Thanks to my awesome primary care provider and OB/GYN, we managed to get my brain in check before I hit rock bottom this time around which has been a whole different experience.
Well we’ve made it to week three of maternity leave and I’m eager to head back to the work force at the end of the month, but until then I’ll do the stay at home mom thing and try to not lose my mind.
Thanks for reading and happy October!
